4 but bumping it up to a 5 because this has been such a epic series. I’m very sad to see such a unique spin on paranormal end, but although highly enjoyable, this book was a little bit of a mess. But man oh man, this shit does the love triangle right. I am so sick of wishy washy love triangles in YA fiction and this book does the angst and the guilt and the sense of love/hate and friendship that remains after love just PERFECTLY. It’s like a little soap opera in the best possible way, in a believable way.
Throughout the entire series, I have not been able to hate a single character; everyone has something redeeming to them, a moment or moments that reveal their vulnerability and kindness and humanity. Besides the demons and Avari, all the human or once-humans were extremely believable characters; I’d go so far as to say the character-building the major strength throughout this entire series. Family dynamics, friendships, people acting in a way that’s actually realistic. Those are a few of my favorite things (in fiction) and I am so very sad to see this series end. The ending is rather bad, though, it reminds me of the extended ending of the Lord of the Rings, where everyone’s sitting around eating and hugging and laughing in slow-motion.
AHH! I can’t wait to find out what happens at the end (even though I’ll be devastated to see all those characters go). And that title…shivers…just gorgeous!
There are no words to describe how magnificent this book is. The best ending for a series I’ve ever had to fortune to read. It literally made me sob. It will be so hard to say goodbye to these characters. To say I loved this book would be a vast understatement. It was just absolutely amazing and perfect and even more than I hoped it would be.
Thank you so much, Ms. Vincent, for creating this series. You have officially gained a place on my list of all time favorite authors. I’ll miss the characters you created and the world you built so much.

*wipes tear* when first started this series many many years ago I didn’t expect it to be here now talking about the 7th book in the series and still being in love with it.
I’m here to review with all my soul by Rachel Vincent today and as I wrote this having JUST finished it I still can’t hold my emotions. I don’t think I’m Ever going to find characters like that again… I’m scared that I wont. I have grown up with these amazing characters Rachel has written and I’m feeling lost already.
Kaylee and the Gang are back. Kaylee realises she can’t save everyone she loves without making some powerful sacrifices. Rachel Vincent writing is beyond magical she picks you up throws you through a tunnel filled we love, hate, passion, heart ache and when you come out the other side you’re a huge mess of emotions and it’s fantastic.
Kaylee and Todd’s relationship is stronger and beautiful than ever. I can’t explain to your how romantic Rachels writing is about them. They are just beautiful characters. It must be hard to keep readers interested through 7 novels about the same characters over and over but it seems to easy to Rachel. I think this plot is one of my favorites in the series. Just when you think you know where things are going Rachel changes it around and your left standing there with a “WTF” written on your face.
Rachel Vincent is my book god I never ever get sick of her novels and when a new one comes out I get butterflies in my stomach. I now have to say goodbye to characters I’ve loved so much #especially Nash and Todd# and its so sad :# I hope one day they make a return somehow! Thank you for them Rachel xx
