This story starts out with the heroine stalking her ex who is marrying someone else and as she is hiding in the bushes, she has the unfortunate luck to meet up with a skunk. She runs to her best friend for help/support and of course he is there for her. He doesn’t hide the fact that he really wants more than friendship but the heroine is a little messed up and doesn’t feel worthy. It takes a long while for her to come around but she eventually does and then she has her work cut out for her. This is definitely worth a read for those who want their HEA but not before the main characters go through various issues.

Mandy and Frankie have been best friends for a very long time. He has loved her for about as long, but she isn’t willing to move them out of the best-friend zone. He has dreams of owning his own auto body shop. She has dreams of owning her own restaurant. Will their dreams bring them closer together or pull them further apart? A delightful, fun read about learning to take risks to achieve dreams while also learning more about oneself. Trust your gut and listen to your heart and everything will eventually work itself out … if you want it to.

Whiskey and Gumdrops is a friends-to-lovers romance. Frankie has always been upfront about his feelings for Mandy but she has always denied being in love with him. Mandy was afraid of losing his friendship if they took it further and failed. A man can only take so much rejection before he finally gives up and moves on. Mandy must face her fears and let her true feelings show or risk losing Frankie forever. Add in the tension of trying to open her own business, self-doubt, and the possibility of losing Frankie’s inheritance, and you have a wonderfully written small-town romance.

Terrific Book

I love books that take place in small towns. What I particularly like about this one was the reality. Average people doing average jobs, earning average wages. This is what most of America is made up of. Mandy wants more out of life. She is a waitress, and is unsatisfied with her life. Her best friend, Frankie, works in a parts store and restores cars. When Mandy sets out to make something of herself, she stands a chance of losing everything. Great characters in this very real story. Loved every word of it. Excellent work.

When the fog clears

I really loved this story. While it had my favorite friends to lovers it was one that held out to the end to make you wonder if they will
Get on the same page or if the moment passes them by. Mandy came seem
To get out of her own way and you at times want to scream at her and Franky you just fall in love with from the very beginning. I can’t wait to see what’s next in blueberry springs.
