Fading Echoes makes me wish I’d read this arc in order with the others. I first met Dovepaw and Ivypaw as warriors in later books, and I couldn’t bring myself to like them very much, particularly Dovepaw. Seeing them younger in this book, I really enjoy the dynamic of them starting their apprenticeship with the idea that they’ll remain super close friends, and then watching them mature and grow apart due to a number of reasons. Dovepaw is a great character now, and I’m interested to see what exactly makes her change so much between here and Tigerheart’s Shadow, which is where I first read a lot about her.

In this book, The Three struggle with the knowledge that the Dark Forest is rising up against StarClan and against the living Clan cats. This ends the book with a very interesting battle scene, in which (view spoiler).

Also in this book, a tree falls into the ThunderClan camp, (view spoiler), which was tragic and very emotional. It was a surprise event and I think it was done well.

whats happening in the book is when ivypaw starts to have these dreams in a sunny meadow (that turns out to be the dark forest) she meats hawkfrost (a river clan cat that has died ) in there when shes trying to catch a mouse but fails hawkfrost shows up an stars to teach her how to hunt and fight because the dark forest cats are trying to raise an army to make all the clans go into another big war (just like when tigerstar is trying to rule the forest in the sixth book in the first series all the clans go into this big war against each other but they all join together to defeat blood clan in the end.) so when hakwfrost is training ivy paw he tells her to try to presaude firestar to take back the land he gave to shadow clan. so thunderclan and shadow clan go into a war

Slightly better than the first book, but I still feel like nothing really happened? There were two major events in the whole book – the falling tree in ThunderClan and the end battle. Other than those, the book was pretty slow.

I will say that I felt a lot more in this one than I have for a while in the series. (view spoiler)

Firestar losing a life didn’t really affect me this time. Usually I feel something when he loses a life because I know he’s that much closer to true death. I still think I’m gonna be fucked up when he dies for real though, which I’m afraid is coming very soon… (hide spoiler)]

I really didn’t like the direction that Ivypaw’s character took. She’s not evil or anything, but it bothers me that she’s acting so naive and bringing death into ThunderClan through her naivety. Can the Tigerstar plotline just be done already?! I’m so sick of him *sighs*

Ohhhhhhh my gosh I read this book so fast I couldn’t stop reading it at all!
Couldn’t believe some of the things that happened. Can’t believe that happened what happened!
Something really bad is about to go so wrong!!!! And it’s already been horrible…
Why some of them have to die? Grew up so fond of some of the characters that I cannot believe what just came to be in this book. I get so sucked up into the story that it feels really real and I need to remember that it is just a story so that I don’t get sad!
Plus I have 5 cats and see in them some of the personalities written. Loved it!
Was really taken by the end… I get really sad when they die…
Good book though!!!

The second book of “Omen of the Stars” was great! There isn’t to much for me to say except for this. (spoiler) Jayfeather broke his stick! I shipped him and his stick! I already knew it would happen because I spoiled it for myself while I was on Power of Three but it was still shocking. To be honest, I’m not ready for The Last Hope because I know how sad it will be. I spoiled pretty much all of the deaths for myself… don’t judge me! (spoiler over) This book was great just like all of the others.
