This wasn’t perfect, the heroine was a bit old to be a virgin…or a virgin romance writer. Still, once the story started, I fell in love with Ander and Lori. Watching them fall for each other over the course of their arrangement was at times painful and perfect.
I sort of remember having read this ages ago, so I started it over just to see and I was immediately sucked in despite remembering that I had! Despite this, I gobbled it up in just over a day. And I LOVED it, despite here and there issues of an older virgin and a lack of communication. Once, these issues were taken care of, Ander is an excellent teacher and hey, talk schmock, who needs to converse when you’ve got Ander as your escort. 😀 I was also a bit stuck on Ander being bald. I had a hard time picturing it until I Googled Kelly Slater, then I had no trouble at all!
I’m sure I might reread this again in another year or two. And I believe I’ll like it just as much then as I do now.
Escorted was an excellent read. I enjoyed it so much that I really debated on my rating. The only reason that I did not give it five stars is because I wanted the writing to be a tiny bit more sophisticated. Let me tell you why you should read this book. Both the Hero and the Heroine are wonderfully developed characters that I connected with and cared about. Clair Kent did not waste words where they were not needed. She is all action, thus Escorted is a page turner. Finally, the sex scenes… they were great. I kept wondering to myself why I wasn’t looking for a little more plot and a little less sex, but I concluded that most of the sex was the plot, and it was artfully done.
I am really on the fence about having wanted “more sophisticated” writing, because I am thinking it was just my own mood. I admire Kent’s ability to tell a story and her underlying wit had me smiling a lot. I highly recommend Escorted, by Claire Kent.
Wow! What an excellent book! I literally couldn’t put it down, but I was forced to when I went to work and then I finished it on my lunch break today (thankful for 30 minute duty free lunch breaks)!
Lori is a 26 year old virgin and has decided to rid herself of her V-Card by hiring a male escort. The man she hires, Ander, comes highly recommended and does the job she asks of him with wonderous results. After a couple of sessions with Ander, Lori tries to date again, but realizes that no one can compare to Ander. She keeps seeing him, even though she knows its unhealthy and not a “real” relationship, but she’s not delusional. She knows what she is doing isn’t real, she just can’t seem to stay away.
“If given the choice, she would rather have a man to love than pay a man to (screw) her.”
But the problem is the man she is falling for, is the man she is paying services for and once you cross that line, it is hard to go back!
The characters were so real! I felt some of the emotions that Lori was going through (embarassed, shy, etc.) I found myself cringing for her during that first encounter with Ander! And Ander….he’s so totally hot! I kept picturing Vin Diesel – I guess they are both bald and hot!
If you liked 50 shades, this is a must read! The stories are completely different, but you get the same vibe!
Gigolo love. A guilty pleasure of mine. This self pubbed book pushed all my buttons and had me up till 3am reading. Pretty Woman revised. 😛 A tortured prostitute and a virginal romance writer come together in a business transaction that soon becomes more when their need for one another overrides everything else.
A few minor probs-the heroine and her cousin were annoying and there were editing issues-but the story is addicting enough to have you overlooking all that, sighing with pleasure and wanting to find a prostitute of your own.
Urrr, wait…that doesn’t sound right. You know what I mean. LOLOL
This book grew on me, I didn’t expect the mood of this story to be somber for me. It’s not dark at all but just gloomy, Ander is cool as a cucumber (as Lori said :p)..seriously there are very few emotions this guy gives and at the beginning he was detached. It’s understandable knowing his circumstances. I appreciate the author for making him the way he was written, I’d hate to see him being romantic or a sweet talker. I like Lori too, she’s mature, perfect for Ander.
Uhm did I say this book is hot? Like, really hot?! 😀
