Great book. Mitch Rapp is the guy every man wants to be like kind of like James Bond. haha. But this is more realistic than James Bond which doesn’t necessarily make it better or worse, it’s just a fact. A very good revenge thriller and very well written. I highly recommend this book and American Assassin which is a prequel about Mitch Rapp. Heck, all Mitch Rapp books are probably good but those are the only two I have read, I don’t know if there are more out there. I love the personality that Flynn gives the characters(including the enemies/bad guys) which are pretty complex, intellgent, and interesting.

This series just keeps getting better; a Saudi billionaire puts a bounty on Mitch’s head for the death of his terrorist son (in the previous book – you don’t have to have read it but it helps) and the first half of the book is about how the plot is put into place, while back in the USA arrogant politicians are scheming to put Irene Kennedy and Mitch under their control.
The last third of the book is all action, I can’t say much without spoiling the plot but it’s a given that the bad guys get what’s coming to them, in a variety of gruesome ways.

I started reading Mitch Rapp novel chronologically since last years. Over the course, I’ve fallen love in Vince Flynn works. Vince Flynn inside knowledge of Politics and assassin world is mind-blowing. He has mastered the art of storytelling. Mitch Rapp throughout his career prevented and terminated a large number of the terrorist organization. He had made allies and enemies. When powerful Saudi business wants to see Mitch Rapp eliminated. They have decided the time has come to end Mitch Rapp once for all. The plan backfires when Mitch survives and his wife and their unborn child is kiiled in an explosion. Now, Mitch Rapp wants revenge and he wouldn’t stop until he kills everyone one of them who were directly involved in his wife’s death. There were more politics and less action for the first part and then it picked up after that. Overall it was exciting to read.

Anna is killed, Mitch takes revenge, assassins spared. (Possibly Flynn’s best novel). A plot is hatched in Saudi Arabia by Saeed Abdullah, and agrieved father, to kill Mitch Rapp in retribution for a lost son Waheed. Saeed consults his long time friend Prince Rashid to assist him in his quest. Rashid calls on a former Stasi thug Erich Abel, who negotiaties a $22M split contract. Sensing the danger of the hit, Abel calls his old Soviet handler Dimitri Petrov for a reference to a clean, efficient and unknown assassin. Abel meets Louis and Claudia in Paris and they don’t like the target but up the price to $10M and move forward. Meanwhile, Mitch learns that Anna is pregnant and simultaneously must have surgery on a worn out left knee. Although unable to participate in the hit, Claudia insists that only Rapp is to be killed-no collateral damage. Louis rigs Rapp’s house to explode as he returns from knee surgery, and Anna is killed by the blast and Rapp is wounded. The CIA invokes misinformation claiming Rapp is dead so that they can trace the money transfers for the completed job. Rapp and Coleman extract Waheed from prison and fly to Saudi for the ultimate reunion between father and son, punctuated by 4 pounds of C-4. Diverting to Zurich, the boys catch Abel clearing his Alps chateau and fry him to the moon. Catching up with Rashid in Granada, Coleman buys out Rashid’s SAS security detail and Rapp stuffs a white phosphorous grenade down Rashid’s throat. Finally catching up with Louis and Claudia in Tahiti after their baby is born, Rapp confers the ultimate reprieve on them after learning they named their baby girl Anna.
