Not for everyone. Yes, there’s a bit of scaremongering as a motivational tool. Yes, there’s some repetition. Nevertheless, I found this little book compelling, inspiring, and convicting. Having finished the book, which I borrowed from the library while on vacation, I ordered my own copy to have to re-read at home. I believe I will be thinner, better rested, and healthier for it. I might even live a little longer.
Eat Move Sleep was packed with great practical insight about all things health. I appreciated how concise yet well-rounded and well-explained Rath’s insight was. I would recommend it to anyone even slightly interested in pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Rath’s advice is as timeless as I’ve come across. He has clearly done a lot of research and isn’t caught up in promoting the latest health trends, but digs to find what is irrefutably advantageous to a person’s health.
This is a fabulous book! I borrowed it from a co-worker, but will definitely be buying my own copy, as I can see it continuing to be a great reference. If you need practical ways to make changes in your life through diet, exercise and sleep, read this book. This author has spent a good portion of his life trying to better the lives of others. He is resilient and inspiring. If you like this book, consider StrengthsFinder, too.
Simple and straightforward ideas I can incorporate in my life for more health and well-being. I liked the style of the book and how it addressed the relationship between eating, sleeping, and moving and how each can influence the others for good or ill. Instead of focusing on each of these separately they were interwoven throughout the book as they are in our lives. Practical and useful knowledge.
Awesome book. Life changing for me. Such simple small things all add up (or detract from) our health, moods, vitality and happiness. Stuff like, did you know that after sitting for 45 minutes, our bad cholesterol rises as much as 30%, and blood sugar spikes too!! Solution: just get up and walk around the room every 20 minutes when you are involved sitting for long periods. Easy read. Excellent. Highly recommend.
